BIS Judge Heather Head's Judging Critique

Thank you for your kind invitation to judge at this welcoming and very well run show. Such a lot of beautiful dogs to judge and I was very pleased with my winners.

Best in Show - Mianna He who Dares at Galeric ShCMC - a beautiful, well balanced Dobermann who moved soundly and precisely; superb in the stance, bold and well trained showing off his correct proportions, masculinity and muscle. Many Congratulations.

Reserve Best in Show - Fiyero Dancing through Life - the smartest Bichon, presented to perfection with the deepest of pigment, close coat and carrying her tail in a perfect plume over her back. Confident and sound in movement.

Best Puppy in Show - Miracey Riding high with Matsha - Shih Tzu. A little charmer, sturdy and alert, again presented beautifully with an abundant coat. He moved out with strength, reaching out at the front and flowing over the floor.

Reserve Best Puppy - Estivals Airbourne Magic- Min.Pin. Another who was so well balanced, sturdy and compact. Had an elegance and attitude that made him get noticed. Sound, hackneyed action.

Best Veteran in Show - a fantastic 13 year old Border Collie - Ringslade Molly Malone at Shamorel. Lovely quality and type, in excellent health with perfect teeth and moved with drive and precision. Lovely coat, typy profile, good bone and well balanced in body. Very graceful and biddable, she looked as if she could still do a day's work. Congratulations to her owner.

Reserve Best Veteran - Briartor Laura's Song ShCM- E.Setter. A very elegant, but a working type of bitch with the desired outline and proportions. Plenty of strength of body. Kind expression. Smooth movement, driving from behind.

B.S.D.(Groenendael) 3/2

1st Ford's Vanistica Live & Let Die at Jendarrus. 2 year old dog, medium size, good proportions
with an intelligent expression. Held head high, which portrayed a finely chiselled skull. Body strong, with a deep chest, level top line and gently sloping rump. Thick black coat, which was in good order. Wary in character, which is acceptable. BOB

B.S.D.(Tervueren) 3/2

Long shoulder, moderate angulation of hindquarters and well set tail. Good strong bone. Beautifully presented coat, but looking a little immature in profile, as at present lacking length of coat. Brisk, sound gait. BOB

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) 2/2
Open:
1st Rich's Jahnshaus Galaxy Lustre ShCM. 6 year old dog with the characteristic pricked ears and sharp face giving the appearance of an alert, interested dog. Low set to the ground, strongly built with a bold friendly attitude. Foxy head, skull wide enough and flat with a long neck leading to a well proportioned body. Well laid shoulder, level top line and broad chest. Tight feet. Steady gait, but can be a bit lively on the move. When concentrating, has a good thrusting drive from behind. BOB
2nd Rich's Woodhenge Moon Voyager ShCM.

1st Garland's Caristan Dom Perignon. 15 mth. old black & white dog who is developing on the right lines to make a splendid adult. Lovely balance, with quality and presence. Plenty of substance with an air of grace, which gave the impression of endurance and speed, when needed. Keen & alert expression. Australian Shepherd Dog 4/1

1st O'Brian's Shepalian Bajimba at Abodandy. 2 year old Blue merle bitch, very much altogether. Keen expression. Right proportions, being slightly longer than height. Medium size, quite solid and becoming well muscled. Had the appearance of naturalness and co-ordination. Medium, strong bone. Long, flat shoulder set close to withers. Straight legs from all angles. Very feminine and biddable. Moved out with strength and ease.

3rd Lee's Bandit at Sheplian of Crystal Lake for Amenbury.

Post Graduate 1/0
1st Lee's Shepalian Paris Express at Amenbury. 2 year old Blue Merle dog,who showed a physical ability to move and stand in harmony. Deep chest, moderate width. Broad loin, with a slightly sloping croup. Level top line. Good oval bone and sloping pasterns, leading to closely set feet. Quite agile in movement with forward reach. Profuse coat presented in clean condition. Confident and friendly.

Open 3/0
1st Bland's Shepalian Red Ensign. 2 year old Red Merle dog, brother to the last two class winners. I obviously find this kennel's breeding to be of excellent type. In fact I liked the first two places, but the winner stood better and showed himself to a greater advantage. Well balanced, sturdy and muscular with excellent bone, most suitable for a working stock dog. Clean cut head, muzzle in proportion to length of skull. Tight lips, almond eye and high, triangular ears. Strong body with level top line. Good turn of stifle and let down hocks.
Moved with ease, light on his feet and gave the appearance of being able to work for long periods. Appeared be able to turn on a sixpence with compact feet and thick pads.
BOB Pastoral Group 1
2nd Harrison's Sangosands Silver Star at Shorrain ShCM.
3rd Lee's Moortime Flyby Night at Amenbury.

Norwegian Buhund 4/1
Open
1st Vines' Ailort Highlander at Parvodene JW ShCM. 21mth.old wheaten dog, typical spitz with the characteristic erect ears and pointed face. Lightly built, correct weight with a short compact body. Tail very expressive and tightly curled over the back. Wedged shaped head, flat at top of skull, marked stop and tapering muzzle. Tight lips. The deepest of mask, in relation to coat colour making for a very attractive young male. Strong, light body with a good deep chest, firm loin and level topline. Small oval feet. In harsh coat and presented in excellent condition.
My only criticism would be that hill walking would improve the slight crossing over of the back feet when moving. Nevertheless, sound and active with a good stride.
Scored over the other two Buhunds for expression and alertness.
2nd John & Sercombe's Trelowen Tyegarth.
3rd John's Ch. Trelowen Bysy at Cristakell
